The Bradley Street Playschool is honored to continue the legacy of Miss Amy’s Childcare in the heart of Historic Abingdon, VA. We are a Reggio Emilia inspired preschool serving children from ages 2-5. Our guiding principles encourage self-expression and critical thinking as well as respect for life, environment, and community. We believe that by emphasizing social relationships as well as independence, we create a strong foundation for self-directed lifelong learners.
We believe that play is a child’s most important work. Child-led and child-centered learning through play and exploration shape our daily activities and projects. We are outdoors in all seasons, paying attention to nature's rhythms and cycles. We utilize creativity and approach all our learning adventures with a problem-solving mindset. Inspired by the knowledge that 85% of brain development occurs between birth and age five, we are committed to nurturing the whole child socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively.
Our goal is to foster a spirit of exploration and inquiry, a sense of community, and a joy of learning in the children in our care.
